Review
We stayed in the Golden City hotel several times since 2001, before its reconstruction and after and I have to say that I have never had more helpful hotel staff during my holidays. The breakfast is very good and the food is fresh. We always had clean and well equipped rooms, now even with free Internet connection, so that I'm writing this review. The location of the Golden City hotel is only few tram stops from the center but we always walked few minutes. I would recommend the Golden City for all Prague lovers with limited budget who are seeking alternative hotels near the Centre.

Church of Sts Prokop
Walk 4 minutes from your hotel to Sladkovskeho square to visit the Church of Sts. Prokop, a Neo-Gothic cathedral built by the architect Josef Mockerin in the years from 1899 to 1903. The axis of the main facade is a high 70 m tower. The main door is decorated with relief by the sculptor Pekarka.
Church of Sts Kriz
Another 5 minutes walk from the Golden City Hotel to Cajkovskeho number 12/2422, you will find the Church of Sts Kriz, a central single-baroque building from 1717 to 1719 on the spot plague cemetery. The cemetery was abolished in 1842 and during the French occupation of Prague from 1741 to 1742 were buried in it several thousand French soldiers. Today there is a concert hall atrium.
Theater Jary Cimrman
According to some researchers, Cimrman is a forgotten Czech genius of the late 19th and the 20th century, who intervened in many disciplines. He was the original playwright, philosopher, gynecologist, skier, confidential friend and teacher of Albert Einstein and confidential enemy of TA Edison.
According to others, it's a non-existent character, a literary mystification, which gave rise to one of the most popular small theaters in the Czech Republic, Theater Jary Cimrman is in Stitneho street number 520/5, only 7 minutes walk from your hotel.
Wenceslas Square
Take the tram, only 6 minutes to the Wenceslas Square or if you want take a walk, Vaclavske Namesti (in Czech) is the main square of Prague and it's the commercial and cultural centre of the city. Many historical events took place in the Wenceslas Square, celebrations, cultural events and mainly demonstrations that changed the destiny of the Czech republic. It's named after Saint Wenceslas , the Patron of the Czech lands.
